Privacy Policy
As designer and small business owner, I’m committed to handling your private data with care and caution. It’s my goal to always communicate transparently about which data I use, why, and how I protect it. Whether you’re a customer, someone who follows my mailing list, or simply a visitor passing by on my website, please know that I will never sell your personal data to anyone.
This policy contains everything you need to know about my website, platform and products, in plain English – and singular first person, because I won’t pretend I’m not a one-woman business.
The Website
This website may use cookies and similar tools to improve your experience. These tools collect non-identifiable data like your IP address and browser type. You can manage cookies in your browser settings.
If you have submitted a question or got in contact with me via email, slack, social media, or any other communication platform, the data provided by you will be used to communicate with you, answer your question and/or handle your request. It is in my legitimate business interest to support you the best I can.
The Mailing List
If you have signed up for the mailing list to be updated about my patterns, you will receive emails about upcoming pattern tests, release dates, and special discount codes. In an effort to abstain from spamming you with emails about patterns you may not be interested in, I work with a system that allows you to choose which patterns you want to receive updates about. There is also an option to sign up for updates about all upcoming patterns if you wish to stay in the loop about all of my work.
My mailing list requires a double opt-in to refrain from sending you unwanted communications. You will be added to the mailing list only after you have confirmed your email address by clicking on the link in your inbox.
If you do not wish to receive my emails anymore, you can always opt-out at any time – using the unsubscribe link in the footer of each email. Here you can also adjust your preferences to choose which patterns you do or don’t wish to receive updates for.
After unsubscribing, your data will be permanently deleted within one [1] month, unless I’m required to keep it for legal obligations. If you do not end up confirming your email address within one [1] month after requesting to join, your data will also be deleted. These clean ups happen at the end of every month.
I reserve the right to decline or cancel any sign ups to my mailing list at my discretion, including sign ups that appear to be placed by resellers, distributors, or with any other malicious intent.
Pattern Testing
If you apply to test any of my patterns, all collected data will be used for the purpose of selecting a diverse group of testers for that pattern. Your Personal Data is retained no longer than is necessary to achieve the purpose for which I collect and use it, and at the end of every application form you can choose how you’d like your data to be handled.
Email Communications: you will never automatically get signed up to a mailing list you didn’t sign up for. By default, your email address will only be used for further communications about the testing phase and pattern launch. No later than one [1] month after the pattern is launched, your contact details will be deleted from my email marketing platform. If you wish to stay in the loop about future patterns and testing opportunities, you can opt-in to the full mailing list.
Form Submissions: to ensure no sensitive data is retained longer than necessary, the data you submit in the application form will also be cleaned up no later than one [1] month after the pattern is launched. You’ll be asked if I can keep your details in my database for future testing opportunities, or if you’d like your data to be anonymized (i.e. deletion of all data that can be used to identify you). If you change your mind, or if you prefer full deletion of all data – instead of anonymization, just let me know by sending an email to the address listed at the bottom of this page.
The Webshop
When you make a purchase through my webshop, your order details are collected to process and deliver your order, and to provide any necessary customer service afterwards. You are not required to create an account — all purchases are processed as a guest — so I do not store any account information on my end.
You will receive an order confirmation email after completing your purchase. You will not be automatically subscribed to any newsletters or promotional emails. However, if a pattern you purchased is updated or corrected, you may receive a notification email regarding that update. If you prefer not to receive future pattern update emails, you can easily unsubscribe via the link at the bottom of such an email, or by contacting me directly.
For tax purposes, the webshop uses geolocation technology (specifically, “Geolocate with page caching support”) to estimate applicable taxes based on your approximate location at the time of your visit. This geolocation is temporary and does not result in ongoing tracking or storage of your precise location.
Payments are securely processed via Stripe. I do not store any payment details on my own servers; all sensitive payment information is handled directly by Stripe according to their own privacy policy.
Order information, including your name, billing address, shipping address (if applicable), and purchase details, is retained for 7 years as required by Dutch tax law (Belastingdienst). This data is securely stored and never used for marketing purposes without your explicit consent.
Third-Party Services
I rely on some third-party services to run this website, which were all carefully selected to ensure not only my data, but also yours, would be handled with care and responsibility. I do not share any of your personal data with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
These services all have their own privacy policies, which can be found on their websites.

Global Privacy Rights
In an effort to provide everyone with the same transparency and control over your personal data, I extend the following rights to all visitors of my website. While these rights are based on the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable California Privacy Laws, I’m happy to offer them to anyone, no matter where you are located.
